Privacy policy
Updated & effective October 31, 2026
A little clarity about what stays on your device, what is sent for an interpretation, and the choices you have.
This policy covers the Dream Whisper Android app (梦语解梦; package com.nurl.jiemeng), its interpretation service, and this policy page. “We” refers to the developer of Dream Whisper. For privacy questions, contact support_jiemeng@jzku.eu.org.
01 Information we process
- On your device: dream entries, drafts, saved interpretations, follow-up conversations, language, and app preferences. Your journal is not automatically uploaded or synchronized with our servers.
- When you request an interpretation: the submitted dream, selected emotions, optional life context, and requested language. Follow-ups also send the original interpretation, your new question, and up to five recent question-and-answer pairs. These may include personal information you choose to type. Avoid names, contact details, health records, or other sensitive information about yourself or others.
- Service records: an app-specific device identifier and authentication material, a client label, registration and activity times, daily reading usage, and rewarded-ad transaction records. These support authentication, usage limits, reward delivery, and abuse prevention.
- Advertising data: Google AdMob may process IP addresses (including approximate location inferred from IP), advertising and other device identifiers, ad interactions, and diagnostic information.
- Support messages: if you email us, we receive your email address and the information you include.
On Android, the service identity is derived from the app-scoped Android ID, with a random fallback if unavailable. It may remain the same after clearing app data or reinstalling. It is separate from the advertising ID and is not a guarantee of anonymity.
02 AI interpretations
Only requesting an interpretation or follow-up sends your submitted content to our Cloudflare-hosted backend and the configured AI provider, currently Cohere. The provider receives the submitted content and language instructions to generate a response. Our AI request does not attach your app device identifier, advertising ID, or device authentication material; personal details you type in the text are still included.
Our application database does not store dream text or generated interpretations. This does not mean third-party providers retain no data: their processing and retention depend on their terms and our service configuration. We do not promise zero retention or exclusion from model training without a verified provider commitment. See Cohere’s privacy information and data commitments.
03 Rewarded ads & your choices
You may choose to watch a rewarded ad for additional interpretation credits. We pass the app-specific device identifier to Google as reward-verification data so that a verified ad transaction can be credited to the right device. We do not send your dream text to AdMob.
Google’s User Messaging Platform presents privacy messages where required and configured. When available, use “Ad privacy choices” in the app’s settings to revisit your choices. You can also reset or delete your advertising ID through Android’s ad privacy controls. Declining personalized advertising does not necessarily stop all advertising data processing. 04 Purposes & service providers
We process information to generate the interpretations you request, maintain reading credits, verify ad rewards, secure the service, and respond to support requests. Cloudflare provides network, hosting, and database infrastructure; it may process network and technical information such as IP addresses. See Cloudflare’s Privacy Policy.
We do not sell your dream journal or use its text to target ads. Providers process data under their applicable terms. Information may also be disclosed when required by law or necessary to address fraud, security incidents, or legal claims. Where applicable, processing relies on providing the requested service, consent for advertising where required, and legitimate interests in service security and support, subject to your legal rights.
05 Storage, retention & transfers
Local entries remain until you delete them or remove app data. Android backup and restore may retain or restore app data depending on your device settings. We do not operate a cloud journal backup service.
The backend is configured to periodically remove usage and ad-reward records older than 30 days. Temporary request-verification records have shorter lifetimes. Device registration records are not automatically removed by that cleanup; they remain for service operation until deleted following a verified request or other operational cleanup. Support correspondence is retained as needed to resolve the request and meet applicable obligations.
Requests use encrypted HTTPS connections. Cloudflare, Google, and AI providers may process data outside your country. Applicable provider terms and transfer safeguards govern that processing. No storage or transmission method is completely secure.
06 Access, deletion & other rights
You can delete saved dreams in the journal. Clearing the app’s storage removes local app data; uninstalling can also remove local records, subject to device backups. These actions do not automatically delete backend registration or ad-reward records and may not reset your service identity.
To request access, correction, deletion, restriction, or to object to processing where applicable, email support_jiemeng@jzku.eu.org. There is no account to close. We may need enough information to identify the relevant device records and verify your request; please do not send your full dream journal or device secret. Because we do not require an account or email address in the app, your email alone may not identify your service records. We will explain available verification steps and any legal retention limits. Depending on your location, you may also complain to your local data protection authority.
07 Children
The app is not directed to children under 13 or a higher minimum age required by local law. We do not knowingly collect children’s personal information. If you believe a child has provided such information, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action.
08 This website
This policy page does not embed advertising, third-party analytics, or remote fonts. Its language switch uses the URL and browser language without setting cookies or browser-storage identifiers. The hosting provider may process normal connection and security information to deliver and protect the page.
09 Changes & contact
We will publish revisions here with a new update date and provide additional notice when required. AI interpretations are for entertainment and reflection; they are not medical or psychological assessments.
